I had just finished reading a NYT story from today entitled ‘Luxury Prices are Falling; the Sky Too’, which is turns out is an example of what the above referenced WSJ is talking about. Evidently Saks jumped the gun retail-wise and cut prices 70 percent which is outside the comfort-zone for most retailers, let alone luxury-item retailers. 70% is pretty much down to the bone for them.
