Deal hunter’s guide to retail

As this 12/4 WSJ article notes, there’s an art to finding the best discounts and determining when to buy them.

I had just finished reading a NYT story from today entitled ‘Luxury Prices are Falling; the Sky Too’, which is turns out is an example of what the above referenced WSJ is talking about.  Evidently Saks jumped the gun retail-wise and cut prices 70 percent which is outside the comfort-zone for most retailers, let alone luxury-item retailers.  70% is pretty much down to the bone for them.

The WSJ story talks about when to buy; when is the discount deep enough, and also where are good places to pick up deals.  There’s also a list of links for online resources for fashion deals and early notice of sales.
